ARL Firefly
Post Processing Designed from the Ground Up with Ngara.
The Firefly software package designed by ARL is a data management/visualisation and audio waveform post-processing platform designed to operate seamlessly with the Ngara™ Noise Logger.
Firefly allows the user to view recorded statistical data (such as Leq, Lmax and Ln) over the entire period for which the logging occurred or as a daily view.

Statistical data can also be re-processed with different frequency weightings or statistical intervals depending on the user’s requirements.
Firefly also allows the user to zoom in to regions of interest and display a side-by-side comparison of data from multiple Ngara™ loggers.

Firefly also allows the Ngara™ system to function as a 1/1 and 1/3 octave analyser by extracting octave band data from the recorded high-resolution audio waveform files.
Users can also view the octave analysis output while listening to the recorded audio and even output a section of the audio session as a compressed .mp3 file.
Octave data can be output with the following parameters:
- Frequency Weighting: A, C and Z
- Time Weighting: Fast and Slow
- Customisable Filters: Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, Band Stop and All Pass
- Percentile sound levels: Ln (1% to 99%, Max 8 values)
